It starts with an initial assessment: whether you are considering restoration, seeking advice, or simply checking the condition of a family watch.
What happens during the appointment
- Examination of the watch under magnification, opening the case where this can be done safely.
- A precise assessment on what needs restoring, what should be preserved and what can wait.
- A price range and a lead time. A final, itemised quotation is prepared afterwards, following disassembly.
- If you leave the watch with us, a detailed receipt is issued on the spot.
Allow 30 minutes for this initial assessment. A full diagnosis may require further examination. No paid work will be carried out without your approval of the quotation. Bring the watch as it is, along with any box, papers, bracelet links or previous invoices.
Please note: the workshop does not work on watches with radium-based luminous material. If you are unsure, send a photograph before booking: you will receive a prompt reply.
